In and out of Costa Rica in one day. Again we were the only ship in port. Took a five person tour to the Veruga rain forest. The guide was very good. Rain forest hot and humid. Got wet all over and dripped too. Learned a lot about Costa Rica. Can see why people like to go there. Next took a canal tour in a little boat and saw more wildlife. Highlight was a big sloth coming down a tree.

At sea. Fabulous buffet breakfast. Beautiful delicious food everywhere. Attended two great lectures. One about the last segment of the voyage including Italy. The other by a naturalist about the animals in Costa Rica. Observed the passenger trivia contest. There were teams of ten and their answers were hilarious. Some were even right! Sea had swells and walking was a little bit wierd.
Monday at sea. Heading to Costa Rica. Time change caused lots of confusion about activities. Chef had a special Mexican lunch. Read napped and walked on deck. First load of clothes. Have eight washers and dryers. Dryers are stacked. They have a step stool to help little people reach the dryer. Colinda had to get the laundry out because I could not reach that high. Shipboard adjustments! Meeting lots of people.
Docked in Cozumel. Only ship in port on a quiet Sunday. We went to a resort beach by taxi. We lounged around and ate lunch. Just beginning to unwind and getting used to traveling. Lots of locals were there and it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves. That night we were treated to an Azamara amazing evening. It was a live show outside featuring Mexican culture. Dancing, singing, and people flying around a pole by their feet.
Arrived in Miami and got picked up by some of the Azamara crew at luggage pick up. They were dressed in black-and-white. I was too. They made me an honorary member of their crew. They took me to a van and Dago was my driver. He said he was from Cuba. He also mentioned it was his birthday so he got my rendition of the birthday song. He recorded it for his mother in Cuba.
Checked into the Marriott Harbor Beachresort. Met up with Colinda and Janis. We were treated to cocktails and dinner. There are 195 people going on the whole trip. Will be about one fourth of the passengers. Eight countries represented. Many have been on Azamara cruises before. Met some very nice folks. Average age appears to be mid seventies.
